Life and Legacy of Guru Nanak Dev Ji 550 Event by Guru Nanak Nishkam Sewak Jatha at University of Birmingham 7-11.08.2019
Art Sikh were very honoured and humbled to have been a part of the celebrations of the Life and Legacy of Guru Nanak Dev Ji 550 organised by Guru Nanak Nishkam Sewak Jatha at University of Birmingham from the 7th to the 11th August 2019. This event was a great initiative brought together by various collaborators; UK Sikh Gurdwaras and Organisations, Guru Nanak Dev University, Amritsar, Birmingham City Council, Birmingham Faith Leaders’ Group, Council of Sikh Gurdwaras (Birmingham) and West and Midlands Combined Authority to bring diverse communities together to share and learn about Sikhism. Art Sikh hosted an art exhibition in celebration of the life and legacy of Guru Nanak Devi Ji (the founder of Sikhism) showcasing the artworks done by our artists in devotion and admiration of Guru Nanak Devi Ji. The event also included workshops, educational/ historical exhibitions, lectures, documentary screenings and free food (langar).
