Christian & Sikh Forum working alongside the Community, Equality and Cohesion Resources team Walsall MBC 21.03.2019

Art Sikh were honoured to be a part of the Christian & Sikh Forum working alongside the Community, Equality and Cohesion Resources team Walsall Metropolitan Borough Council by helping with planning and delivering events where each faith community had the opportunity to visit one another’s place of worship to better gain an understanding of what role faith plays in the lives of each community group. Art Sikh curated a pop-up art exhibition which consisted of a variety of artworks created by professional artists from the UK and worldwide on Sikh theology. This exhibition was delivered at Guru Nanak Gurdwara, Walsall, when the Christian community from Streetly came to visit the Sikh community. The exhibition proved popular and gave both community groups an engaging conversation starting point to explore and better learn about Sikhism. The  Christian community from Streetly, previously had hosted a visit from the Sikh Community to the All Saints Parish Church, allowing the Sikh community to gain a better understandings of how they practice their faith and place of worship.
